Who we are

We are ecologists and evolutionary biologists at the University of New Brunswick.

Our research interests are broad, but are centred on ecological controls on the evolution of biodiversity. We seek to understand how ecological interactions and environmental contexts have influenced the assembly and evolution of ecological communities - and thus have shaped the modern diversity of life.

Most of our work is with insects and plants, but we are open to finding the right study system for our questions. We’ve published on everything from viruses to primates!

We are part of an interactive local group of ecologists and evolutionary biologists, with colleagues in UNB’s Department of Biology, Faculty of Forestry and Environmental Management, the Canadian Forest Service, Agriculture Canada, and Environment Canada. Of course, we collaborate on national and international scales too. We are always looking for new lab members and collaborators.
